About the Japan Practice
Our Japan Practice serves as a bridge between Japanese investors and businesses expanding into Thailand and the wider ASEAN region. A core part of our work involves dispute resolution, including commercial disputes, shareholder and joint venture disputes, and related strategic advisory work in Thailand. At the same time, we regularly advise Japanese state-owned enterprises and private corporations (and, on occasion, individual clients) on a broad range of corporate matters, including cross-border investments, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate and regulatory compliance.
Working closely with colleagues across the Rajah & Tann Asia network—including the Singapore-based Japan Desk—our team provides seamless bilingual legal support in Japanese, English, and Thai, ensuring effective communication and practical, commercially minded solutions. Given the breadth of our matters across disputes and corporate work, team members gain wide-ranging experience and exposure to varied industries, workstreams, and client needs.
About the Corporate Practice
You will work closely with our team on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, and transactional advisory work. You will be part of a collaborative environment that values technical excellence and professional development.
Qualifications
- 0 to 3 years’ legal experience (Junior Associates) or 4 to 6 years’ legal experience (Mid-Level Associates) in corporate and commercial work.
- Strong academic credentials (GPA score of at least 3.5 or 75%).
- Sound foundation in legal knowledge and skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- (For Japan Practice) Fluency in Japanese (JLPT N2 or above) is an additional advantage.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience working at an international or top-tier law firm.
- Commitment to technical excellence and delivering excellent client service.
- Possesses initiative, drive and commercial acumen, and can work well both independently and in a team.
- Meticulous and well organised.

Internships are a great opportunity for you to get to know us and see first-hand what the life of a practising lawyer is like. Our programme is designed to take you on a tour of the firm and provide a platform to participate in the culture that defines us Rajah & Tann. Interns can expect to work alongside our lawyers as they attend court proceedings and meetings, be involved in transactions and assist in tasks such as research and the preparation of legal documents.

Paralegal
The Paralegal will provide high-quality document production and administrative support to the firm’s legal teams. This role is well suited to a detail-oriented individual with strong organisational skills, excellent proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the ability to work with complex legal documents and workflows in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Document Management & Production
- Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, including agreements, correspondence, presentations, proposals, and internal forms.
- Produce and manage complex Word documents using styles, cross-references, defined terms, automatic tables of contents, track changes, and document comparison tools.
- Prepare clear and professional PowerPoint presentations, pitch decks, and other client-facing materials.
- Manage document revisions, version control, file naming conventions, and consistency across multiple drafts.
- Maintain digital filing systems and matter-related document repositories in accordance with firm policies.
- Convert, merge, and edit PDF documents as required.
- Ensure all documents comply with firm formatting standards and document housekeeping rules.
- Support lawyers with document-related tasks, including blacklining, formatting corrections, preparation of execution versions, and document scanning or copying.
2. Legal Support & Administration
- Assist lawyers with basic legal research and information gathering, including locating relevant laws, regulations, or publicly available information.
- Organise and maintain matter files, including tracking executed agreements and maintaining document indexes.
- Assist with preparing and submitting documents and supporting materials for filings with relevant government authorities, and liaise with such authorities as assigned by lawyers.
- Coordinate calendars and schedule internal meetings or document-related discussions.
- Respond to routine internal requests for information and documentation.
- Coordinate travel arrangements when required.
- Support other administrative works assigned by lawyers.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in any field. Newly graduated candidates are welcome.Â
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- High attention to detail with strong proofreading skills.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and manage competing document deadlines.
- Proactive, well-organised, and able to learn quickly.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to take ownership of tasks.
- Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with legal terminology, common legal document structures, and confidentiality requirements is an advantage.
Business Development Executive
The Business Development Executive plays a pivotal role within the Rajah & Tann (Thailand) Limited Business Development (BD) team, providing critical support for our local and regional strategic growth and elevating our brand presence in the legal market. The Business Development Executive will provide support to the BD Manager on the completion and roll out of BD and marketing initiatives, including but not limited to the key items listed below.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development:
- Support the practice groups to develop high-impact pitch materials and tailored proposals that drive business opportunities.
- Study the current legal market/competition and propose appropriate steps to be taken to improve the Firm’s standing.
- Track and identify relevant industry organisations and conferences to uncover opportunities for the lawyers to engage in targeted speaking roles and sponsorship options.
- Provide support to the Partners of the Firm in building their respective individual business plans.
- Manage and update the firm’s track record repository, ensuring all matter experience is accurately captured and readily available for pitches and submissions.
- Propose and implement new BD guidelines and processes for the benefit of the Firm, where necessary.
- Assist in other ad-hoc BD activities and initiatives as assigned.
2. Firm Profiling
- Manage the Firm’s submissions to legal directories and industry awards to raise and maintain awareness of the Firm and improve rankings.
- Manage the Firm’s social media pages including sourcing and producing content.
3. Events Management
- Manage and coordinate Firm-hosted events, webinars, seminars, and conferences.
- Providing full logistical support on all Firm client events, including vendor liaison for hotels, F&B, and the procurement of Firms premiums and corporate gifts.
4. Marketing Collateral & Brand Management
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of marketing collateral, internal coordination and updating of Firm BD templates in alignment with RTA branding guidelines, including but not limited to sourcing and liaising with external vendors.
- Coordinate, review, format, and disseminate relevant legal updates and newsletters, opinion pieces, and article contributions, to clients of the Firm and other media platforms.
- Updating the Firm’s information and relevant capability statements concerning the office, including those appearing on the Firm’s website, marketing materials, CVs, and proposals.
- Assist on the Firm’s brand management & development, as well as all PR activities.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
1. Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or a related professional area.
2. Exceptional interpersonal skills and proficiency in both English and Thai (verbal and written) are critical to success, as are collegial, collaborative, and team-player attributes.
3. Candidate must be a self-starter who thrives on juggling numerous high visibility projects on fast timetables and can handle high-pressure environments.
4. Candidate should have strong to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and some knowledge of applications specific to the legal field.
5. Technologically proficient and adept at using digital tools; specifically skilled in creative platforms such as Canva, with a proven ability to quickly master new software and emerging technologies.
6. Responsive and proactive.
7. A proven track record in a similar role is a plus but not essential.
8. Understanding of the Thailand legal market and regulatory environment is an advantage.
Working Hours
Required working hours will be 09:00–18:00 and/or 10:00-19:00.
